27 of our Scouts headed to Belanglo State Forest 2009 to compete in a lightweight camping competition and had a stack of FUN, learned a lot and achieved some great results - check out the May 2009 post for the event report.

A gang of our Scouts headed to Sydney Harbour to try our hand on the fleet of sailing boats and canoes they have at the Water Activity scout centre, plus the highlight for many was the wrestling on the pier at the end. Happy Days!
Scouts Canoe Camp - Tallowa Dam to Fossikers Flat - Mar 09
32 intrepid members of 1st Caringbah Scouts headed down to Kangaroo Valley to enjoy a weekend Canoe Camp. We stayed at Beela’s farm on the Friday night before heading down to the dam armed with kayaks and canoes galore. We then headed off in the delightful warm conditions to enjoy a 32 km paddle out to Fossikers flat and back.

Cubs Canoe Evening - Feb 09
Our cubs enjoyed an evening learning some canoe skills followed by a tasty BBQ
Scouts Ballantyne Flag Camping Competition - Feb 09
We sent 2 patrols (led by Chris B and Nathan) to this light weight camping competition at Camp Coutts. It focusses predominantly on campcraft skills and we are very happy to announce 1st Caringbah came away with 2 trophies - the “best activities point score” and Nathan was awarded “best leader” over 70 other scouts.
Scouts Water skiing, Sailing and Canoe Night - Feb 09
Our whole troop headed down to Lilli Pilli Scout Hall armed with 3 speed boats, a flotilla of sailing boats and raft of kayaks for a night of watery fun and my did we have fun. The 13 years and older scouts water skied using both a pole and rope with the MacPherson’s and Dunc showing us how it is done. Check out the photos in our gallery
Scouts Adventurer Chord Patrol Hike - Jan 09
5 intrepid 1st Caringbah Scouts headed out into the Royal National Park led by Nathan L on a 3 day hike. The whole 32km hike was organised by Nathan for his adventurer chord. The scouts hiked and navigated independently without an adult to guide them. BRAVO lads.
Scouts Surfing - Dec 08
A few of our scouts joined a scout (Oliver) from 1st Lilli Pilli to ride the wild surf at Wanda Beach and what an excellent time we had. After surfing and then body surfing, we then picked up some coconuts we found and headed home to enjoy the sunshine and holiday.

1st Caringbah Scout troop headed off to Sutherland Small Bore Rifle Club to try our hand at some target shooting

ANOTHER FUN and very successful weekend with a lot of FUN for the 66 1st Caringbah Scout Group members who attended and again we brought home a stack of trophies

Scouts NSW State Rally - Aug 08
This lightweight camping competition was an excellent opportunity for our scouts to have FUN whilst learning new skills and meeting scouts from all over the state. Our 4 patrols did incredibly well managing to come away with all teams in the the top 30 (from over 120 teams) and Speedy Turtles (led by Jessica J) managed to create history by being the first 1st Caringbah team to win this event in the 22 years of the competition and with the highest score on record - BRAVO.
Joeys, Cubs and Scouts, Region Camp Gathering - Jun 08
Just about our whole group headed to Cataract Park for this event. Even our 6 year old Joeys were doing the HUGE abseil off the stack of containers.
Scouts Gliding - Feb 07
Our scouts headed down to Camden airport to the scout air acitivty centre to enjoy to try out the FANTASTIC experience of flying in a powered glider to 4000feet and then the instructor switching off the engine and then gliding down to earth. The scouts also got the chance to the actually control and fly the aircraft themselves - how much FUN is scouts.
Group Warrabunda Bush Camp - Nov 06
We headed down to Warrabunda for a fantastic weekend of camping, jumping off the 12 and 14 m cliffs into the water hole, showering under the waterfall and relaxing.
Scouts Billy Kart Derby - Aug 06
Our scouts constructed their own billy karts and then raced them in Lilli Pilli - much fun
Scouts Flying Experience - May 06
Our scouts headed down to Camden airport to the scout air acitivty centre to try our hand at flying the Cessna 172 - great fun.
