Venturer Scouts Karting – Jul 11

1st Caringbah Venturer Scouts headed to Kartatak for some high octane fun racing go karts and what a blast it was.

Lloyd  took out the precision driving prize managing to complete his lap closest to the target time of 30 seconds.  In the fastest lap competition confusion reigned when Moose forgot his glasses and recorded a few times incorrectly!  Alas this meant that Jake J was relegated from what looked like 1st  place down to 4th when his time of 22.23 seconds was compared to the photographic evidence and he was found to actually record a still very respectable  23.23 secs.

So the top 3 results went as follows:

1st Matt “Lucky” B            22.36 secs

2nd Eric “Rafiki” C               22. 70 secs

3rd Jason “Baggy” J           22.73 secs

Darcie took out the bulldozing prize for T boning Baggy.  Caitlin was the “drifting queen”.  Jake J managed to lift his kart off the whole track somehow.  Jake M and Cris got sin binned for 10 laps after driving with “unusual style”.  Jordan took out the “most warnings” as he was going so darn hard!

The highlight of the night was listening to all the groans from those who did Sutherland to Surf the day before as they descended down the stairs and stretched their sore thighs BAHAHAHA.

Thanks go to Cam Brown for organising the night – good job Cam.

21 of our Venturers Scouts and linking Scouts headed to the Snowies to enjoy some fun filled days ski-ing, snowboarding, windsurfing in the snow, night ski-ing and chillaxing.  See the action in the pics.  More group photos to come and if we’re lucky there may even be a video of this year’s action. Jake and Baggy also did a reconnaissance snow cave trip (independent of scouts and under expert advice of Bruce Easton from Wilderness Sports Jindabyne) to make a plan for next year’s camp!  THANKS go to Rafiki, Bridget and Duncan for doing such an excellent job of organising this great camp.
