Plus a BIG thanks go to Nathan for organising the camp and Doona/Rafiki for all their hard work prior to and during the camp.  Lastly thanks go to the Venturers for their enthusiasm and great participation.  It was also good to see you become a lot tidier and hygienic by the end of the camp.

Cubs Grey Wolf Mountain Bike Exped – Jan 11

Julian Weaver prepared a written proposal to 6 Cubs inviting them to participate in a mountain bike expedition of 2 hours duration in the Royal National Park. He planned and lead the group on a 15km route from Grays Point to Heathcote, returning to Caringbah railway station on a Cityrail train.
Julian gained an appreication of orientating a topographic map and planning a route using an othographic map downloaded from Google Earth.

The Grey Wolf Award is the highest achievement badge earned by a Cub. Completing this award achieves a basic competence in leadership, planning, responsibility and most inportantly, a sense of adventure.

Venturers Canyoning Movie

Thanks to Nathan for creating this movie of the Venturer recent canyoning trip.

1st Caringbah Venturers headed 1.5 hrs South to Macquarie Pass to enjoy some Canyoning led by Greg and Luke from 1st Loftus.  Due to the high levels of rainfall last week we had to hike and bush bash for a lot longer to get in, but it was worth the effort.  We had so much FUN abseiling and enjoying the waterfall.  We are looking forward to the next trip.

Check out our facebook for the banter and Chris Me will be posting a full 300 word report this week
